Something’s Gotta Hold on Me is classic R&B with a great lead vocal, gospel inspired backing vocals, a bass line that drives the rhythm, and some tambourine to add to the fun factor. It’s music that will make you groove. Chess Records didn’t give us a lot of female stars but when they did they made it count.
